As you are aware, four marine fibre optic cables namely SEACOM, TEAMS,EASSY and LION are expected to be in Mombasa and operational between
August 2009 and June 2010. Currently UUNET your Business Solutions Provider is live on SEACOM fibre and we believe it is our job to give you our customer the most cost-effective fibre solution for your business.
Overall, expect an improved service with less than 200ms and zero packet loss. We have developed a host of solutions for our customers which are categorized as Communication solutions, Network solutions, Security solutions, IT solutions and Professional services. On the attached E-shot we have indicated what products we are offering under each solution.
As part of our fibre readiness, we have spent over US $10MN to upgrade our core network, routing, transmission and security infrastructure as well as training,research and development aimed at delivering these solutions to our customers in a smooth and cost effective manner.
With increased speeds and bandwidth capacity the Fibre Cables bring with them the potential risk of hackers and other illegitimate usage that could compromise the security of your network. However, this is a compromise that we have addressed through the recently launched managed network security services. This has been developed with the global expertise and experience gained from our parent company MTN Business, which has for many years offered security services on fibre networks across the globe.
